about

This is a song about why you shouldn't base a relationship solely off liking the same shit. Also, it's about this one time I got really shitfaced last summer.

There're multi-tracked vocals on this song because I really love that sorta stuff. Anyway, I hope you like this.

lyrics

I rode the bus for hours just to meet you at your place. You always said 'we should start a band', but we didn't know anyone who played the drums and who liked the same songs that we did.

And I just laid as close to you as my apprehension would allow. and I put my hand in between us and hoped you would hold it (but you were too hungover).

It's clear to me now that your being older matters too you. It's clear to me now that you're wiser than I will ever be. I'm just glad I didn't do anything stupid and I can move on and accept you as my friend...

... who I still see most days. With complimentary and overlapping tastes. It's not like I think that's what's more important. I just can't think of anything else (I think I should take a break) that defines me (from liking music) ... I think I should take a break from hating everything else.

I'm starting to learn how growing up is about more than getting older. I think I'll spend the next few years trying to get over this thing where I love anyone who shares my passion. It just gets confusing anyway and I can't afford to lose the last few years I've been building up of my best friends (if you think this is about you, then it probably is).
